Fig and Olive is a lovely, upscale restaurant located on a posh section of Melrose Ave in West Hollywood. Their weekend brunch menu serves up a mixture of breakfast classics, newly inspired lunch items, and dessert favorites. My husband and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fig and Olive. We had a great dining experience from the minute we arrive until we left.
We visited Fig and Olive for Sunday brunch. Being a Sunday, the local farmer’s market right outside the restaurant was in full effect. This caused parking to pretty much be limited to the restaurant’s valet. I’m not complaining about the farmer’s market; after our meal we took a nice stroll through and ended up buying a few goods.
I tried not to eat the bread but when it looks like this, who can resist??
Appetizers
Dare I say the appetizers were my favorite part of my dining experience? We shared 3 of the appetizers on the menu.
The fig gorgonzola tartles was a pleasant surprise. When it arrived I saw salad with prosciutto on top. I forgot the description mentioned there was a puff pastry underneath. The puff pastry definitely made the dish. It was soft on top with firm, flaky crust. My only complaint is that the crust it was a wee bit hard to cut through with the knife. Not really a complaint more of a heads up.
I smelled the truffle on the mushroom croquette before I even saw the server. Personally I love anything truffle so I loved this. My husband is not so much of a fan of truffle oil so I pretty much ate this myself. Not complaining.
Fig and Olive’s Crostinis…
I saved the best for last. While all the appetizers were all fantastic, the crostinis definitely stood out. I’m officially crazy for their crostinis. You can get 3 for $13 or 6 for $22. We got 6. Go big or go home.
Yes I only listed 5 crostinis. I love octopus in general so when I saw it on the menu I knew it was the first thing I wanted to try. I ordered two of the octopus and I’m glad I did because it was my absolute favorite. The octopus was cooked perfectly and it paired perfectly with the hummus. I wasn’t sure about the hummus at first but it and the pimenton were great accompaniments.
Entrees
Fig and Olive’s brunch menu has something for everyone. Steak and eggs, French toast, burgers, crusted scallop linguine, quiche lorraine, truffle mushroom fontina, penne pasta…I didn’t know where to start. Ultimately I went with the hanger steak salad and my husband chose the chicken paillard.
The chicken paillard is served with a side of brussels sprout, haricot vert, red bell pepper, almond, and lemon. The chicken was cooked to perfection – done but still juicy when you cut it.
The hanger steak came with a side of baby kale, arugula, pine nut, romesco with almond & hazelnut. It was served on top of a sweet potato mash that was not only vibrant and colorful but to-die-for. The steak itself was heavily marinated so every bit was bursting with flavor.
Dessert
By the time dessert came around, as you can imagine we were pretty full. That didn’t stop us though. Bring on the carmelized cheesecake and chocolate pot de crème!
Chocolote Pot De Crème – crunchy hazelnut praline & vanilla cream.
Carmelized Cheesecake Olive oil crisp with caramelized peaches.
Overall, I had a 5-star experience all around. I look forward to visiting Fig and Olive again for dinner…sooner than later.

I had no idea there was more than 1. I went to the one here in DC and loved it! I had the Fig+Olive salad with Manchego, fig, gorgonzola dolce, apple, tomato, walnuts and olives. It was so yum.
This looks like a great place t enjoy a nice brunch. I dont think we have one of these in Denver. I wish we did. I would love to attend with our brunch club. Ladies brunch! Yum!
Sounds like a delicious place for dinner. I am way over due for a dinner date out. Your photos look amazing. In-fact they are making me hungry.
Looks incredible
This is really impressive. I expect nothing less from West Hollywood. I love that area and will probably check this area out when I return hopefully soon.
Wow that looks like a fantastic place to dine out at. Ever since we have moved to Iowa we have given up on even decent restaurants but we still want to travel to eat well. It looks like this place will have to make it to the someday list for us because this looks great. I miss dining out at good places with good service but we are heading out for vacation soon so it won’t be long!
Holy smokes batman, lol everything looks so delicious! I would love to take my husband here to dine, I know he would enjoy the mushroom croquette and the hanger steak . I’ve never heard of this restaurant before today, thanks for sharing this post!
This all looks so incredible. I love brunch, because you can try so many different things. I always say, I am not going to eat the bread this time, but I always do! There is nothing better than fresh baked bread!
Everything looks so delicious! I totally would not have been able to resist that bread! I am so bad, I always eat all the bread before the meal even comes! Although if I knew I was getting that dessert, I’d definitely save room! Goodness, that looks amazing!
This restaurant looks most ideal for brunch with the family. The salad with prosciutto looks excellent. I can imagine it to be salty but refreshing with the salad greens. Octopus with hummus is something I’ve never tried. I’d love to share it with my sister.
Every Sunday my husband and I go out for breakfast. It’s the one meal I really look forward to during the week. I’m certain we’d love Fig and Olive! If we are ever lucky enough to go, it would be the Hanger Steak Salad (for him) and the Chicken Paillard. Of course we can never resist a bit of two of dessert and the Chocolote Pot De Crème looks heavenly! x
That seriously opened my hunger now. Seriously looks delicious!!
